Privacy Policy for Nira Speaks AAC

Effective Date: June 18, 2026

Nidhin Raj J (“Developer”, “I”, “me”, or “my”) built the Nira Speaks AAC app as a Free application. This SERVICE is provided by Nidhin Raj J at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.

By choosing to use Nira Speaks AAC, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. However, Nira Speaks AAC is designed with a strict privacy-first approach: I do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, voice recordings, or images to any external servers.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using the App, it requires access to certain device features to function properly. Nira Speaks AAC processes this data entirely locally on your device.

1. Microphone Access Nira Speaks AAC requires microphone permissions to allow caregivers to record custom voice audio for communication subcategories.

2. Device Storage / Camera Access The App requires access to your device’s storage (and camera, if applicable) to allow you to upload custom images and icons for communication boards, as well as to perform database backups and restores.

Log Data

I want to inform you that whenever you use my Service, in a case of an error in the app, I may collect data and information (through third-party products like Google Play Services) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. This is strictly used to identify and fix bugs.

Third-Party Services and Advertising

Nira Speaks AAC is a 100% ad-free environment. The app does not use third-party advertising networks, nor does it employ third-party tracking software to monitor user behavior. The app is focused entirely on providing a distraction-free communication tool.

Children’s Privacy

Nira Speaks AAC is built to assist users of all ages, including children, in communicating safely. Because the app operates entirely offline and does not transmit personal information, images, or audio recordings off the device, it inherently protects the privacy of children and fully complies with guidelines such as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

Security

I value your trust in using this app. All customization data (boards, images, audio) is secured behind the in-app caregiver access menu (the golden padlock icon) to prevent accidental changes by the primary user. Please ensure your device itself is secured (via PIN, password, or biometrics) to protect the data stored locally within the app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
